RAPID CITY, SD (August 3, 2026) – The National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) and Kalkomey Inc. would like to introduce the Today’s Hunter and Today’s Bowhunter Combo Manual that can be used for Hunter Education classes and/or Bowhunter Education classes.

The 130-page, book bound manual has color coded sections for ease of instruction: orange pages for Hunter Ed, green pages for Bowhunter Ed and brown pages that are essential materials for both Hunter & Bowhunter Ed courses. The Combo Manual supports in-person courses with worksheets integrated into the manual. The manual includes content about wildlife identification, all elevated stand usage, big game shot placement, big game recovery, hunting ethics, hunter safety and survival. This information is beneficial to beginners and serves as an excellent reference book as well as a refresher for experienced hunters. Combo Manuals are available now. The Instructor Combo Manual will be available in October 2026. This information rich manual will include a course outline, a PowerPoint presentation on a flash drive and additional illustrations to support classroom learning. The Instructor Combo Manual will also include field day curriculums and activities. The Instructor Combo Manuals will be distributed and ordered through NBEF.

Partners included NBEF, IHEA-USA and Kalkomey Inc.,” said NBEF Executive Director Marilyn Bentz. “The State of Nebraska inspired this educational product. Nebraska led the way by refining and streamlining the outdoor education process by offering an online combo course since 2018. Now, all states will have access to this modern approach the Combo Manual offers for in-person classes. I am especially pleased to offer this as the requests for in-person classes have increased.”

The National Bowhunter Education Foundation offers instructional content and tools for bowhunter education classes in the US.
