RAPID CITY, SD (April 25, 2022) – The National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) continues to sponsor the National Archery In The Schools Program (NASP®) and will attend the 2022 NASP® Western Nationals and Eastern Nationals.

NBEF is the 2022 sponsor of the 1st Place High School Team Scholarship at the NASP® National Tournament in Louisville. NBEF Executive Director Marilyn Bentz will be on hand to recognize the winning team. Each of the 24 members of the winning team will receive a $1,000 scholarship. In addition to the scholarship sponsorship, NBEF will donate two Genesis bows to the winning school in NBEF colors for future archery instruction.

NBEF will attend the NASP® Western Nationals April 29-30 in Sandy, UT and will exhibit at the NASP® Eastern Nationals May 12-14 in Louisville, KY. These events feature teams and individuals that have met the required ranking and scoring criteria to attend. Scores from the Western and Eastern Nationals will be combined, and the top teams and individuals will qualify for the 2022 NASP® Open Championship Tournament to be held June 23-25 in Louisville KY. In addition, the top individual female and male archers from both events will qualify to participate in the NASP® scholarship shoot-off to be held at the NASP® Open Championship.

NBEF supports NASP® as a way to introduce young archers to bowhunting. NBEF shares information about its safety and success-focused bowhunter ed classes and informational materials with the thousands of NASP® participants, their coaches and families.

“These NASP® events are a wonderful way for us to engage with young archery enthusiasts and invite them to learn about bowhunting,” explained Marilyn Bentz, NBEF Executive Director. “For many it’s a natural extension of their interest in archery and conservation. NBEF solidly supports the NASP® organization and will continue to help move the program forward.”

NASP®’s mission is to promote instruction in international-style target archery as part of in-school curriculum, to improve educational performance and participation in the shooting sports among students in grades 4-12.

“We’re very grateful to have NBEF’s past and current support,” explained NASP® President Tommy Floyd. “Our organizations are working together and share a passion to get more young people into the shooting sports and into the outdoor lifestyle.”
